Birth Story Spotlight Of The Week! ✨

Brooks Daniel’s birth story unfolded in the early hours of September 5th, beginning unexpectedly when Big Sis wandered into her parents’ room around 2:30 am, a nudge that seemed to set everything in motion. Abby, feeling uncomfortable, realized she was experiencing contractions after initially mistaking them for digestive discomfort from dinner the night before.

As the contractions intensified, Abby and her partner realized this was the real deal. With her partner and Big Sis trying to rest, Abby began to prepare herself and her home for the birth, timing contractions and tidying up, despite the pain. She even moved off her living room rug during a contraction to avoid any mess—an amusing yet poignant detail highlighting her presence of mind.

By 4:00 am, they called their midwife, Tanya, who could sense the urgency and began to make her way over, also alerting their doula, Jess. Meanwhile, Abby sought comfort in the shower, noticing signs that labor was progressing rapidly. The situation escalated when her water broke in the shower, a clear indication that their son would soon be arriving.

Nathaniel, anticipating the need for more comfort, prepared the garden bathtub. As Abby moved to the tub, the arrival of Tanya and Jess brought a sense of relief and heightened anticipation. The atmosphere was charged with excitement and focus, with the midwife and doula quickly preparing for the birth.

The final moments before Brooks’ arrival were intense and emotional, with Abby feeling an overwhelming need to push. Under Tanya’s guidance, and with support all around, Brooks was born at 4:42 am, marking a beautiful conclusion to a night full of anticipation, strength and pure joy.

The birth, captured in photos by Jess Harris, reflected the love, strength, and incredible journey of Brooks’s arrival into the world, surrounded by his family and a dedicated team of caregivers.

On February 8th, 2024, at 10:35 am, Savannah embraced the arrival of her baby girl, Isobel, into the world. The birth was a powerful blend of intimacy, tranquility, and primal instinct. Trusting in herself, her support team, and her baby, Savannah navigated her labor with grace, leading to the unforgettable moment when she held her baby girl for the very first time.

What an honor to be a part of such a sacred space. 🤍

Hi! 🤍 I’m Morgan, a holistic doula based in Columbia, TN. With a passion for pregnancy, birth and postpartum support, I advocate for women to choose the path that resonates with them, blending traditional midwifery and free birth philosophies.

Having personally experienced the enchantment of childbirth twice as a mother, I aspire to guide and empower other moms on their magical journey. At 25, a wife, and a mother of two boys (3 and 6 months), I bring a unique perspective to my practice.

Balancing holistic approaches with an understanding of the essential role of western medical intervention, I ensure a supportive and diverse approach to each pregnancy. As a former hairstylist, I’ve transitioned my passion for nurturing to the realm of birth.

Outside of doula work, you’ll find me indulging my Scorpio spirit, watercolor painting, enjoying music, and perhaps a bit too passionately savoring my coffee. Let’s embark on your birthing journey together, embracing the magic and empowerment it brings!
